The last week or so has been hectic and we appreciate the warm welcome many of you have given us as the new team. We’d also like to extend our mutual thanks to those of you who have been patient with issues that have been inherited.

There is still a question mark over those of you who purchased “lifetime hosting” plans roughly 13 months ago. We have been promising a proper reponse to this issue for a week and I want you to know that we’re doing everything we can to have a satisfactory answer as soon as possible.

New Payment Option: 

We now offer non-paypal credit card payment of your invoices via the client billing area. Many of you were asking if this would be introduced so it was clearly a good option to provide. Simply log in to your billing area and select the CC single or CC payment option.

New Server:

A dual core, dual opteron server has joined Colorteck as the latest expansion to the network. “Plato” has twin 320GB SATA II HDD and is supported by RAID. Truly a beast, we have already had fights between staff as to who gets to put their own websites on it too.

We’re pleased to announce that the Colorteck Network is now under new management!

Introductions are in order- My name is Will Vacher and I am your new hosting administrator. Coming onto the team are Jeff and Ian and we will be working ourselves flat out to continue improving Colorteck.

The founder of Colorteck, Bill, founded this company on a set of core principles; strong client interaction, reliability and a sustainable business model. These same principles were reinforced by the previous owners, Sea Waves Technology. We share these same fundamental business principles and our job will be to provide you with the highest level of server and hosting service available.

For the recent few days I have read every single post on the forums and been going through all the previous helpdesk tickets in an effort to understand how we can improve service even more. Here are a taste of things to come (and a few things we’ve already done):

- RVSkins installed on every server, effective immediately.

- Additional third party server monitoring to ensure when services go down, we know instantly.

- Security hardening on all servers; we have installed over 30 services to tighten security on all servers, and will be contacting some of you soon about updating insecure passwords to ensure your accounts are as safe as they can be.

- New servers at Colorteck will have at least the following spec from now on:

> Intel Dual Xeon processors
> 4GB effective RAM
> Dual HDD with an eye to introducing RAID in the near future.
> Redundant power supplies
>Daily backups for your data security

This spec ensures great servers with plenty of attitude and redundant power supplies to cope with accidents out of our control.

- Managed dedicated servers! Is it time your hosting upgraded to dedicated? We will be offering managed solutions for you. Open a helpdesk ticket if you’re interested!

Finally, we are looking forward to a mutually beneficial relationship with all of you- we are intent on providing a level of service hard to beat and allow our business to grow. We all feel honoured to have the opportunity to serve you as your hosts.
